Jeanne Calment: The Oldest Person Who Ever Lived
Do you think your grandparents are old? I’ll bet they don’t compare to Jeanne Calment who lived until the age of 122.
The oldest lady that ever lived was named Jeanne Calment. She was born on February 21, 1875 in Arles, France to parents Nicolas and Marguerite. In 1896 she married the wealthy Fernand Calment, who was her second cousin. She had a one daughter named Yvonne, who died at the age of 36. She lived on her own until she was 110 years old and could walk on her own until she was almost the age of 115.
On February 21, 1991 she became the world’s oldest living person. On October 21, 1995 she became the oldest person to ever live. She finally passed away on August 4, 1997 at the age of 122 years 164 days old.
Jeanne Calment also broke a few other world records. In 1990, aged 114 years, she became the oldest actress ever appearing a film called Vincent and Me. After breaking her hip at the age of nearly 115, she also became the world’s oldest surgery patient. Finally, she is the oldest known person to quit smoking. She quit at 117 years of age.

i hope to god i dont live nearly that long mabye 80 is ok for me, it must have sucked to know that every single person in the world that was your age when you where younger is dead. must have been a very lonesome feeling

I don’t understand how one could live that long and smoke. Your lungs must have been really bad. People these days die from smoking at the age of around 60…

i find it amazing that she live this long as a smoker. you hear so many story about smoking killing you and she did not even stop smoking until age 117. i do not smoke and i found when i was in the military that there were many smokers who would smoke then run they would always out run me.
