Much Maligned Preacher Wins Over Distinguished Author in International Open Web Awards
A victim of religious persecution and disinformation, a preacher exiles himself to continue preaching in South America. Deprived of his own home country, he started blogging to aid his preaching. His truth blog makes a mark among the counted in Mashable International – one that did not pay attention to disinformation that scattered all over the Internet.
Manila, Philippines, (01/18/2010) – If things are played fair, we can always win. These were the words of the man for whom justice had long been elusive.
Bro. Eliseo Soriano, Filipino preacher on exile, felt vindicated by an award given him by an international social media site that did not pay attention to disinformation about him scattered all over the Internet.
Soriano easily beat Paulo Coelho, the Portuguese famous author in the 3rd Mashable Open web awards competition of 2009.
Pete Cashmore, CEO of Mashable.com, in an e-mail to Ang Dating Daan or The Old Path, the congregation lead by Soriano said, http://www.esoriano.wordpress.com takes its place among the top 50 websites and services of the year, having won the ‘Most Educational to Follow’ category in the Open Web Awards 2009.
Cashmore said the Mashable team, dealt with over 440,000 nominations with over 70,000 nominees and over 780,000 votes for the recent Open Web Awards. Mashable.com, an international social media site, partnered with Motorola this year to bring the 3rd Annual Open Web Awards: Social Media Edition. Reports show that past winners of this international competition include YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Digg, and iGoogle, to name a few.
In terms of written works, and literary reputation, Soriano is no match to Paulo Coelho.
Coelho began blogging in 2003, four years ahead of Soriano. Coelho could write as much as 186 in a month. It was in 2007 that that he jacked up his batting average, the same time that Bro. Soriano just opened his blog. By competition time, Coelho had written 3, 224. He also had forums on the spiritual or biblical just like the preacher. Coelho had 219,056 followers and 5,743 were listed. Soriano did not reflect his number of followers.
Apparently, it was not quantity of posts that mattered in the competition. Bro. Soriano posted a measly number: 117 posts from April 2007 to December 2009. The most that he could write in a month was 26 in July 2007 since his work involved traveling to the untamed regions of South America to preach. His blog, however, is pregnant with interaction, mostly on issues of truth.
Coelho’s forums included questions like the following: Do you think man is intrinsically bad? Do you think sex is dominating the human civilization? Do you think you’re following your personal legend? How do you interpret Adam’s experience? What do you think about reincarnation? Why are we born if we have to die? These were some of his forums.

I witnessed Bro. Eli Soriano’s wit when it comes to biblical understanding. He is truly a preacher who can straightforwardly answer all questions regarding faith that people throws at him. Most of the time, people will ran out of questions while he will never ran out of answers. God’s gift is greatly manifested with the articles which he writes on his Blog. Whenever people recognizes his talent, the preacher will humbly say, “All Glory Belongs to God”. That is a character of a true Christian Preacher. Just like what the Lord Jesus Christ said “So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.” (Luke 17:10)

Time will come those South American ADD converts will begin to doubt if God doent put a good leader in the Philippines so that the Manalist influence will end and so that the ADD presiding minister little by little shall get his justice on courts. (this will happen if the next president of the Phils. is again corrupt)
If you want to prove totally that the God of ADD is the Biblical God, show to them that the ADD god can put a good leader and help the ADD preacher to get little by little his justice here on earth.

I believe that what is happening in the life of a true Christians is God’s Plan for the good of those who believe in him Rom 8:28. What the Manalist did to Bro. Eli. brings bad things in the beginning, but God did not abandoned Bro. Eli because of his clear conscience to spread the Gospel to our fellowmen and now the Gospel is spreading world wide Via satelite and Internet connection Across the globe. I remember the verse of book of Mathew 24:14 is already happening. What I can say is Thanks be unto God for his Unspeakable gifts and To God be the Glory!!!

I am a catholic. I believe that the INC’s are not real Christians because of there WEALTH and influence in the Government of the Philippines. I read the bible every day. And what i have read that the 1st Century Christians are not rich and been much likely persecuted by the Roman empire and the Jewish people. Wikipedia founder, Jimmy ‘Jimbo’ Wales, has warned students not to refer to Wikipedia, reports the US education weekly, The Chronicle.
Wales said that he gets about 10 e-mail messages a week from students who complain that Wikipedia has earned them fail grades.
“They say, ‘Please help me. I got an F on my paper because I cited Wikipedia’” and the information turned out to be wrong, he says. But he said he has no sympathy for their plight, noting that he thinks to himself: “For God sake, you’re in college; don’t cite the encyclopedia,” the journal reports.

@Jake Astudillo – that news report about WIkipedia founder asking students to avoid the very site he founded was funny! Quite ironic really for him to say that. This is just one strong evidence that information being posted on this user-generated site, i repeat: user-generate site – cannot be relied on. It is strange that “Christians” can tell lies about others, acting like the ends justifies the means. Well, the Lord knows, and He rewards those faithful to Him and His Word.
Those who are righteous will often not look at all glamorous to the world. Even many who were burned at the stake, etc., were not martyred for what the public saw as upholding righteousness, but instead for being menaces to society, child molesters, and criminals.
So, if the world persecutes a righteous man, we should not be surprised. Jesus warned us of this, and He Himself was crucified with scorn as a criminal.
