Paul Keating was a Prime Minister for the Australian Labour Party from December 1991 to March in 1996, which is a period of five years and nine months.
Paul Keating’s greatest achievement during the time he was Prime Minister was establishing a national training authority, which is a scheme to redress low national savings and labour market and training reforms which addressed Australia’s long-term unemployment problems.
Personal Life:
Paul Keating was born on the 18th of January 1944. He grew up in Sydney. In 1975 he was married. Paul Keating has also had two kids.
Employment History:
Before Paul Keating went into politics he didn’t have any jobs, (As he started in politics at the age of 16). In parliament he was the representative for Blaxland, a shadow minister, a treasurer and of course the Prime Minister.
After being Prime Minister he retired from Parliament, but He continues to take a close interest in the national issues with which he was associated in public life. Mr Keating is Visiting Professor of Public Policy at the University of New South Wales and has been awarded Honorary Doctorates in Laws from both Keio University in Tokyo and the National University of Singapore.
Achievements:
There weren’t any wars or important things happening at the time Paul Keating was Prime Minister. Some people though saw Paul Keating as a messiah because he did some good things such as wanting to make Australia a republic and being responsible for deregulating the banking and telecommunications industries.
There aren’t any things today that are named after Paul Keating besides a small tree witch all Prime Ministers have.
Other Information:
Paul Keating spent pretty much his entire career in Parliament and politics. He started working in politics at the age of 16 and stopped as soon as he lost the election to John Howard in 1996.
