The Rise and Fall of Hulk Hogan
How Hulk Hogan is pretty much doomed and has lost the respect of millions that used to look up to him.
We’ve all seen major stars rise and fall from grace. Once beloved and now have become the foot of a free fall and continuing to collapse losing the respect of many people around the nation and possibly the world. The one I’m going to talk about is perhaps bar none one of the biggest names in all of professional wrestling being Hulk Hogan. If you’re not in tune for what has been going on, here is something that has really damaged him for as long as he shall live. That telephone call with the Hogan family to his son Nick about trying to get him house arrest and of course talking about starting a new reality show with his son as the star with about him any form of remorse by the Hogans themselves.
Before going into more details, let’s talk a bit about the rise of Hulk Hogan. Everyone knew who he was and was becoming a big star in the AWA. At some point he was to be the big star and probably have a run with the AWA World Title but due to politics and money, that didn’t happen at all and his biggest claim was in the WWE. Granted, it was the World Wrestling Federation but still it’s the same company run by Vince McMahon today. He had a 4-year run as the World Champion, which at the time there wasn’t a lot of TV and PPV that you see today. You couldn’t away from Hogan, as he was the big star. He would win the championship 4 more times and he lost the belt once clean to the Ultimate Warrior at Wrestlemania 6.
There was a period of time when it came to steroids where he admitted to using them but was honest about Vince McMahon about him never distributing to other wrestlers, which saved him from jail time. Of course, he was out of the company.
The next period would be during his run with WCW and was initially a face but two years later in part of the biggest move in wrestling forming the New World Order with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. This was the first time that the mainstream audience and perhaps some wrestling fans in general have ever seen him as a heel. He would be champion a total of six times overall, well seven if you wish to get technical. His downfall in WCW happened at Bash at the Beach when Vince Russo came out and during that time everything from 2000 was shoot city where you would think everything was a shoot for no reason.
He returned to WWE and has been pretty much on and off. Looking at his age, he couldn’t do on a full-time basis and when he returned became a WWE Champion for the last time and ended his career as a tag team champion. His greatest achievement came in 2005 when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Over the years in the wrestling community prior to all the incidents going on as we speak as the devil in wrestling because of all this holding-down talent thing going on. This is a matter of opinion on him and he’s no different than anyone else in the business world. Politics do exist everywhere. The last thing I want to say on that is if the crowd wasn’t into him so much, would he really be able to validate being on top of the wrestling industry?
In the last few years we have seen the major decline in the Hogans becoming probably now one of the most hated celebrity families ever. Now, as you know Hulk’s son Nick got into a car accident and left his “friend” in a near death state. Granted, John Granziano should have worn a seat belt but still you don’t go acting like some speed demon. The family seems to have no remorse for the tragedy that happened along with this divorce thing going on. It’s a sad day and it’s just going to keep getting it worse.
The phone conversation was going to get out one way or the other. Thanks to the technology that we see today, anything gets out a lot faster than it used to years ago. Respect for the Hogan family has been lost and it will never ever return. Hulk Hogan is finished and will never recover from this. All the good that he has done entertaining millions around the world have been pretty much flushed down the toilet. In the end, Hulk Hogan will have no one to blame but himself for the mess that he has put himself through.
