Thomas Alva Edison was a great inventor. He is best known for his invention of the light bulb, the photograph and the motion picture. He was born in Milan on 11 February, 1847. Being a child, he was sickly and suffered from reoccurring ear infection which led to some hearing loss. He was suffered from attention deficit.

Thomas Alva Edison was not a good student at school. He never learnt how to spell and even in adulthood, his grammar was terrible. When he was twelve, he sold newspapers at a railway station. One day, at the age of fifteen, the station master’s three-year-old son was playing on the platform and fell onto the railway track. Thomas Alva Edison saw an oncoming train and snatched the child up just in time to save him. In gratitude, the station master taught Thomas telegraphy.

With his dedication and passion in the light bulb invention, we can see clearly in the dark. It was a great contribution for a mankind. Otherwise, we have to be temporarily “blind’ whenever night falls. Thank you, Mr. Thomas Alva Edison for your great inventions!
