Letter of Resignation

Letter of Resignation

Sample letter with fill-ins.

When you decide that you no longer want to work at your job possibly for health reasons, internal conflict or you’ve been offered a more profitable position elsewhere, it is customary to give your present employers advance noticed.  The notice should come in the form of a written statement or more popular a “letter of resignation.”  A resignation letter should be short and sweet meaning keep it simple and concise, don’t go into who’s, whys and whens.  Concentrate and keep a positive flow.

Your letter of resignation is a “heads up” to your employer that your have decided to leave and on this particular date.  In business it shouldn’t be personal with regards to emotions.  So, by thanking your employer despite “personal” feelings a sentence of appreciation should be noted.

Below is a sample resignation letter.  The blanks can easily be filled in and always read your work aloud.  You will hear mistakes if you made them.
