Aloe Vera The Magic Beauty Ingredient
Aloe vera seems to be everywhere – in moisturising lotions, sunscreens, shampoos and even soaps. Beauty products with aloe vera extracts are the latest rage in the market.

The age old beauty ingredient has been re-discovered and repackaged as the big solution to almost every beauty problem. The sudden popularity of this nature’s healer came about five years ago because of modern processing techniques. The natural gel of the plant oxidises very fast when is exposed to air and cannot be refrigerated for more than three days. But this new processed gel is stable enough to be used in beauty products. The stabilised gel can be used in cosmetic preparations for various skin conditions. In this form it is more easily absorbed by the skin and also combines well with other extracts.
Still being researched, the aloe vera components have shown so many good properties that companies all over the world are getting excited about this magic plant.
Most commonly, aloe gel is used to give moisturising properties to beauty products. Aloe vera seals off the loss of moisture from the skin which makes it an ideal moisturiser. The moisturising properties of aloe vera also extend to hair nourishment. Aloe nourishes the hair follicle making it perfect for hair loss products.
Along with moisturising, aloe has natural healing properties which make it an excellent sunscreen. Aloe vera sunscreen protects us from the damaging effects of UV rays.
Aloe vera is also famous for its skin firming qualities. This is one of the most remarkable properties of aloe vera; it can speed up the cell-renewal process. This actually helps to improve many cellular functions and protects the skin from early degeneration. In addition to renewing cells, aloe vera also helps soften dead cells and facilitates their removal from the surface of the skin, leaving the skin smoother and brighter.

It absolutely works. Applied to burns it will heal and virtually no scarring will occur. I keep several plants growing at all times. It can also be taken internally for stomach ailments.
