Some designers are well aware of the fact that adding exotic and tasty sushi images to their design would make their products look cute and adorable.
Most scientist and science fiction geek would agree that all sapient creatures would always need some source of energy. For human being that source of energy is food. Food is the primary building block of civilization. No civilization could exist without food.
Since no viable civilization could exist without food, most people from most culture would have positive and pleasant imagery when food patterns are presented to their sensory. This fact means that the practice of adding food patterns to the design of non-food related products could rent it some positive and pleasant image that the food itself already have.
Some designers are well aware about this fact and don’t hesitate at all to exploit the principle for their product design.
