Are You a Shopaholic? How to Shop Till You Drop and Do It Well
For many shopaholics, shopping is a way of covering up insecurities and lack of confidence owning beautiful things makes them feel better about whom they are. One thing shopaholics should remember is not to become a slave to their wardrobe. The definition of a functioning wardrobe is that it works to support you, and not the other way round.

If you just can’t help but spend, spend, spend, our guideline will make sure that at the end of each spree you’ve actually bought something you want to wear:
- Work out what you need. Go through your wardrobe, identify any gaps that need filling and keep this in mind as you shop. You may not always stick to it, but in the back of your mind you’ll have an idea of what’s a good or bad buy and hopefully, spend more wisely.
- Stick to a budget. Give yourself a limit for the season. Put the money in a tin and dip into only that – not your credit cards or your mortgage account. You’ll get the thrills without the bills.
- Think small. Make a list of essentials. Many shopaholics buy to cheer themselves up. Having lists of little things you always need, like lipsticks or tights, gives you a shopping fix without busting your budget.

I hate shopping but I do sometimes when I feel like treating myself. With my weight fluctuating so much I probably shouldn’t. When my husband goes away during the summer my daughters and I distract ourselves by shopping. Since it’s happening near the end of August this year we will need to do back-to-school shopping so…. LOL!

I’m not a big shopper – more likely to have a lovely frothy mocha as a “comfort prize” rather than a mad shoppping spree!!

I’m definitely not a shop-a-holic. I surprised my mom one day with how fast I did my grocery shopping. She couldn’t believe how quick I got out of the store.
