Save Leather Boots
This describes what should be used to help folk keep from having to quickly replace their work boots.
It has become real expensive to just get a new pair of work boots. When they are required for your employment it is just like having to constantly replace some tools. That has to be coped with because leather boots are not made out of some plastic or rubber. They have to be kept from drying out or the boots just easily crack up.
In my family our saddle shed had been stuffed with saddles for years. That gave me the erg to use saddle soap on any leather thing I wanted to keep in good shape. That cowboy tool was used on my motorcycle seats, leather jacket and boots. Unfortunately that didn’t really help the leather it was used on hold up.
My work boots got so dry they cracked around the steel toes. That pair of boots had to be discarded. After that I was lucky enough to find a pair of shank soled boots. That was a step up because the boots make it easier to ride my motorcycle which has forward controls. In order not to mess them boots up I went to a leather shop. The owner told me that every pair of boots must be saddle soaped every thirty days.
It’s just that didn’t seam to be helping my boots all that much. When I ran out of saddle soap a more efficient way had to be discovered. A local hardware store sold some saddle soap and mink oil. I went ahead and changed over and became a mink oil user. This has turned out to be the best thing to use on my boots and everything else. It is really helping my motorcycle seat do fine now. I’ve started making sure every other piece of leather owned gets saved with it as well.
It is saving my leather jacket, belt, chaps, leather pack pack and wallet. This way I’m not going to have to worry about scrounging up enough money to replace things like the passenger seat. It would even look a lot newer if I had learned this lesson long ago.
