The Flight Club: One of a Kind Sneakers From $39 to $5,000
Find the rarest unique sneakers.
Are you on a quest to find the perfect sneakers? Have you ever dreamt of a $5,000 Nike dunk hi wu tang? Or an Air Jordan 4 retro motor sports for $3,000? Well… dream no more! Wake up, gather all your savings, head to The Flight Club, and make your dreams reality.
The Flight Club was launched over 10 years ago, when Air Jordan dreamers (just like you!) could mail away for a membership to Flight Club, which offered special Nike Air Jordan items. Since then, 3 stores were opened (2 in New York, and 1 in Los Angeles, at 503 Fairfax Ave.), a Mecca to the sneaker freaks, mostly men addicted to limited edition vintage athletic footwear. Here, all shoes are 100% authentic. No fakes, no factory variants, no flea market material. All the shoes offered for sale at The Flight Club are thoroughly inspected by knowledgeable staff for condition and authenticity.
The shoes in the store are being sold on 80/20 consignment. Sellers bring in their rare sneakers, and the store sells them, for a 20% commission. A live eBay, if you may. No auctions, no blurry photographs from strange angles, no chasing late or deadbeat buyers. Do you have rare, unique sneakers for sale? Bring them in, set up a price with the staff, and you are done! Do you want to buy rare, unique sneakers? You come in, look at them, pay for them (there is no use to try them on, because at $5,000 a pair you know you’ll never wear them in the streets!) This is a great concept, if you ask me! But be aware! There are no refunds, no exchanges, and no trades! All sales are final, so open your eyes before you reach for your cash.
All these being said what can you expect to find at The Flight Club? Let’s see… from socks (at $15 for a pack of 3), to hats ($35 apiece), to t-shirts (starting at $35), to sweatshirts ($30-$59 apiece), to ballbusters varsity jackets (they have a wool body, leather sleeves and quilted lining, and they sell for $350) you’ll find it all. Let me go back to the T-shirts for a second. The Flight Club offers a line of T-shirts called the “Animal Pack”, T-shirts that pay homage to the professional basketball players. These T-shirts include references to players like “the Worm”, “Black Mamba”, “The Chosen One”, “Big Ticket”, “Sir Charles”, and “Black Cat”. Each T-shirt includes a symbolic jersey number on the back alongside the cartoon characters, and they sell for only $40.
What else does the Flight Club have in store for you? The Eminem Air Jordan 2 Retro, that’s what they have in store for you! About 3 years ago, Eminem accepted Nike’s offer to design a line of sneakers in order to raise money for charity. The Eminem sneakers were auctioned on eBay and in exclusive stores. The auctions started on August 31-st 2006 and ended October 3-rd 2006, on each session two exclusive sneakers being presented. They sold for thousands of dollars a pair. Most recently, in October last year, Eminem teamed up with Nike’s Jordan brand to create an exclusive design for the classic Air Jordan 2 sneakers. These new sneakers are called “The Way I Am Jordan 2″, the name of Eminem’s new book, “The Way I Am”. On the collar and toe trim of the sneaker there are lyrics from Eminem’s songs. There are only 313 (the zip code for Detroit) pairs available, and all the money made from selling these sneakers will go to “The Marshall Mathers Foundation”
But don’t think that everything in the store is for the rich and richer. You have Jordan 1 Retro (the old love new love/beginning moments) for $39, you have Pumas averaging $625, you have Converse, and Vans (the half cab “supreme” sells for $288, and the cool, sk8-hi lx “Simpson till death” sells for $275). You have Nike Skateboarding from $1748 for the dunk low pro to $55 for the blazer low premium, you have Nike Airforce 1 premium for $3000 to Nike Airforce 1 low for $50, you have New Balance, and Bape ($120-$450), and Adidas.
