Cell Phone Blues
What does good customer service mean? You spend your money on these hi-tech cell phones and they bum out on you.
Let me start off by saying, cell phones these days are too expensive. You don’t get enough for your bucks.I recently purchased the new Motorola Krave ZN4 from Verizon Wireless, and the features on the phone are great. The size of the phone is very compact, and easy for me to find in my purse, where most of my stuff gets swallowed up never to be seen again. However, the phone has a flip screen that is such a deficit to the phones texting ability. It makes texting difficult and time consuming. The touch screen feature is a pro but, also has a major con, which is tapping into a program that you didn’t touch. For example, I touch media center it opens up the music feature. I have small enough fingers for the phone not to do that. The battery life on the phone does not last long enough for a road trip. So listen to this, I called Verizon’s call center about the phone having problems, I had a very pleasant tone, and they told me to take it to a local store. In other words, they were saying go see a technician so they can tell me nothing is wrong and to show empathy give me a refurbished phone. Well, the persistent person that I am, I didn’t accept their suggestion because Ive only had the phone 15 days. I asked the customer service representative to please send me a replacement, since I placed my order on line less than 20 days ago. The rep tells me to pick out a phone I want. Hmm, I recall telling the rep I want the same phone just a replacement, or maybe she didn’t understand the English that I was speaking. Get this, the rep then tells me she doesn’t have time to wait on the phone while I look on line to see which phone I want to replace it with. Meanwhile the rep placed me on hold for 3 minutes to verify my account. Hmm, I thought good customer service consists of the rep attending my needs and resolving the problem. Apparently, that particular rep did not get the memo on good customer service. With an attempt to satisfy me, the rep took down all my information for the shipping of the replacement phone. Wait, that’s not it, the rep tells me she has to call me back after she speaks to her supervisor. The rep didn’t not give me confirmation that the phone would be shipped. I wait patiently for the call back, 20 minutes, Sigh, 45 minutes I’m kicking my feet up, flipping through old top model episodes on TV. One hour passes, no call back from the representative. Does anyone know what it means to display good customer service. Now, I’m stuck here with a defective phone that I just purchased. The excitement of having the best phone is over, I have the cell phone blues. Does any one have suggestions on what my next step should be?
