Cool Headset Designs for Computer and Tech Freaks

Cool Headset Designs for Computer and Tech Freaks

The headset is a cool tool that many tech and music lovers can’t live without. As we all know, its style is constantly evolving too.

The Classic Headset

It’s impossible for us to move on to other headset designs without first giving justice to the classic headset. It’s by far the most commonly used headset in every household and office (well, maybe not for long). It’s notorious for making you look like a telephone operator. The most significant downside? It can be an eyesore when you’re taking pictures of yourself via webcam or digicam. But of course, Huggy Piggy Bear (the model shown on the picture above) is an exception.

The ‘Get Ready For Take Off’ Headset

new headset (07-29-08)

This design looks pretty much like the classic headset, except that the mouthpiece is conspicuously bigger. It often reminds me of the appearance of pilots or aircraft personnel. This kind of headset has the reputation for making your voice sound better, which is probably the reason why it is popular among call center agents and telemarketers. Oops, better voice could mean more sales and conversions!

The ‘Stevie Wonder’ Headset

Philips SBC HP250 Headset

This is called the ‘Stevie Wonder’ type of headset because it reminds us of music videos shot in studios during the 1980’s. Remember the time when people used large headsets with thick ear cushions during their studio recordings? That headset design is still alive today and popular among sound engineers and studio geeks. This leads me to believe that the development of technological design goes in circles. Nothing ever gets obsolete. The New simply revives or improvises the Old.

The ‘Eagle’ Military Headset

Eagle Headset

This is specially designed for military use but if you want, you can search every headset store in the country and try to add this headset to your collection (you may want to buy a soldier’s uniform too). This is a high powered headset that can withstand heavy duty and intensive use. It is compatible with all military radios. When you use this, who knows, you might be able to speak with President Bush himself.

The ‘Headband’ Headset

one of my old headsets

This headset fits on your head like a headband. If you have thick bushy hair, you won’t look like you’re wearing a headset. This is a personal favorite among many joggers, who don’t like the idea of having long cords dangling around their neck like spaghetti.

The Next Generation Geek Headset

Motorola h681 bluetooth headset

The invasion of “micro headsets’ has come. This is better known as a bluetooth headset. While many old timers complain that this looks much more like a hearing aid, this headset has long battery life and range. You can move easily and with more comfort because this thing has no wires attached to it. Headsets are getting smaller and smaller. Maybe someday they will invent a microscopic or invisible kind.

In fact, I keep wondering what kind of headsets people will use forty years from now. Hmmm.

Very informative article on the modern types of headsets. I would prefer to have “The Next Generation Geek Headset” because it is wireless.

Thanks and God Bless…
