The Studio XPS 16 sports a 16 inch screen, with a Core 2 Duo T9400 processor, and an ATI-HD 3670 GPU. By default this laptop comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo P8600, but Dell allows you to upgrading to the T9550.  The back of the lid has a band of leather, aluminium and plastic, giving it a smooth  glance .  The e-SATA/USB combo port, optical drive, card reader slot and a USB port is placed on the right side. Two headphone port and one microphone port are situated on the left side, with a display port VGA out, HDMI out and two USB ports.  There are touch buttons present above the keyboard that control certain feature such as Wi-Fi, Multimedia controls and the Eject button. The keyboard is a full QWERTY, with well spaced keys that have a white backlight. The Heavyweight has the dimension of W : 384.9 x H : 24.1 x D: 254.6 mm and weight 2.19 Kg.

With the exhaust at the back its depressing to see Dell neglect the fact that the lid, when open, blocks it.  This makes for laptop hot after a little hours of use.

This particular laptop has a 16 inch WUXGA RGB LED display that has a resolution of 1920 x 1080, which basically means a full HD screen.  RGB LED displays have the best colour gamut for notebook displays. The screening angles of this screen are also grand , and you can see clearly from either side.  The glossy screen, however, undoes all this decency. This display, again is an upgrading,  and the default configuration has WXGA WLED display with resolution of 1366 x 768.

The RGB LED is a joy to watch movies and HD clips on, but we noticed some colour grouping, and in areas where yellows and blues merged, there were some really bizarre greens being formed.

The on-board speakers are beautifully loud, and they’re located on either side of the keyboard.

The battery only lasted for 1 hour and 10 minutes, but that’s what you guess from high performance desktop replacements.
