Details About Bluetooth 3 Coming on the 21st of April

The developers of Bluetooth have anounced that all new technical details about version 3.0 of Bluetooth will be released on the 21st of April. Version 3.0 will be eighteen times faster than version 2.0, the developers claim.

The developers of Bluetooth will launch the new official specifications on the 21st of April. The new BlueTooth-version will be eighteen times faster than the current Bluetooth version, that is now mainly being used in cellphones.

Bluetooth is a wireless way of communication between two or more devices, and can mostly be found in cellphones. This technique is mainly used for short distances.

With Bluetooth 3.0, the developers will want to reach a speed of 480 mbps, which is faster than the current WiFi-standard, the N-standard, that tops at 300 mbps. The speed also depends on a few factors, such as the distance between the two communicating devices.

Bluetooth 3.0 broadcasts using a 2,4 GHz radio as well as an additional 8 GHz radio. Version 3.0 makes use of the Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology. It is not yet known which devices will make use of Bluetooth 3.0. Only time can tell that.
