One of the gadgets I have come to depend on is The electricity usage monitor. I will elaborate below.

This is a very useful gadget as it can let you know how much energy a particular appliance is generating, knowing this can help you to economize on your energy usage, thus saving you money on electricity. This device is connected to an appliance, and its LCD display counts the consumption by the kilowatt (kw) hour, displays volts, amps etc. with great accuracy and It also calculates your electrical expenses. The device is inverter compatible and works with AC 115v applications.

Whenever you shop for appliances, you should always test it before leaving the store, to make sure it is working properly, not broken or damaged, look also at the wattage and the volts. In the case of a broken appliance, there are some appliances which are broken, but looking at it from the outside, you are not aware of it, or one which uses a lot of energy, for whatever reason, be it a default, or just the way it is manufactured, this gadget would help you to pinpoint just how much energy that particular appliance uses on a daily basis, and then you would know its time to replace it. If you use a  power company which is habitually overcharging you on a daily basis, and you’re having to query your electricity bills every now and then, the energy usage monitor can eliminate that problem for you.  If you have ever had a problem with your electricity bill, it is a must have.

2. Another gadget I have become familiar with and have grown to really appreciate is the one below:

 Smart Strip Power Strip

I don’t want this to sound like an advertisement, but you can really, honestly, save time and money by getting the smart strip power strip, it is unlike any other power strip I have ever seen, or you have been accustomed to. I used to worry about whether or not my computer would be off at nights after I’d turned it off and gone to bed, and it would sometimes come back on by itself If I had a power cut, but being techno dunce that I am,  I had to find another way to stop these things from happening. So friends recommended this gadget and guess what? It worked. Some of the many ways in which smart strip saves you time and money are: You no longer have to wait until your computer shuts down before you can turn off the monitor, speakers etc. You no longer have to leave them on indefinitely, as the smart strip turns it off  for you. The smart strip helps you to save money on your electricity bill as it burns less current and is easily affordable to everyone.  You no longer have to replace your peripherals if you want to save money, and you can use any compatible software to enhance the smart strip.

The Smart strip is the only surge protector on the market today which enables you to save energy. It can be used for the home or office, in  a work environment, computers are generally left on during the night, even if a few persons turn their system off, there will still be computers left on in the workplace. But whether or not the computer is left on, it still burns current, with the smart strip, you do not have to worry about that. It switches off your computer at a specified time. The computer would shut off  at the end of the day, if it has not been used for 1 hour, so your computers would only be used for 9 hours for the normal workweek. That automatically translates to savings on your electricity bill.
