How to Use an iPhone
How to use an iPhone.
So you got yourself a fancy new iphone.. But you have no clue how to use it… hmmm…
To turn it on, make sure its charged, hold the key on the top of your phone until the apple logo appears. To turn it off, hold the key until a screen comes up and asks you to slide to turn off. Lets go over the hardware… On top is your on,off, lock button and a headphone jack (3.5 mm). On the original iphone, it was recessed so only apple headphones. On the 3g, any headphones will do. In the middle of these two things is the sim card slot. You open it by sticking the sim remover tool into the hole and pushing down. To the right side of the phone is a silent, normal switch and volume buttons. To the bottom, there is one speaker on the left. A 30 pin standard apple dock connector, and to the right is not a speaker but the microphone. On the front of the phone on top is the call speaker and the bottom is the home button which your press to exit an app or go to the first page (software 2.2 or 2.2.1 only). On the back top left is a 2 mp camera. No flash, no zoom…. Come on apple..No battery changing by yourself.. $70 by apple. White or black plastic covering for 3g, aluminum for original. Inside is either a 4gb, 8gb flash drive (original iphone) or 8gb, 16 gb flash drive (3g). Also, 128 gb of ram. An accelerometer is a nice addition also, it automatically turns the screen when you turn the phone. It operates on apple’s osx operating system.
Where’s the buttons? its a touch screen… a very nice one. It supports multitouch but don’t touch it with anything other than your hand or any part of your body, as it is electro heat sensitive, not pressure. You can pinch to zoom, swipe, and good stuff like that.
To unlock, press either the home button or lock button and swipe to unlock, if you have a password, enter it. Press icons to launch apps. Standard apps are, sms text, calendar, photos, camera, youtube, stocks, maps, weather, clock, calculator, notes, settings, contacts, itunes, app store (2.0 or higher), phone, mail, safari (internet), and ipod. You can download apps and have different pages. To switch pages, swipe the screen. You can either access the internet through cell network or wifi. To turn on wifi, go to settings and tap wifi. Then turn it on and connect to a network. Email setup is easy (not as good as blackberry) and 2.0 supports microsoft exchange and mobile me (new mac.com). You can use imap or pop and have multiple mailboxes. Typing is kinda hard. But in safari, you can turn the phone sideways to have a bigger keyboard.
Through this guide, I hope you gain a better understanding about your iphone and I hope you get addicted to apple.. lol jk…
