IPod Touch 3.0 Firmware

IPod Touch 3.0 Firmware

Get ready for the biggest update of the year for the iPod or iPhone. The 3.0 Firmware is coming to town.

The Ipod touch and Iphone are going to have a huge update on June. They will get the new 3.0 firmware. Now, this firmware is way better than the 1.x and the 2.x because this has much more things you can do with it. I will mention some of these feature with you.

Cut and Paste

The almighty cut and paste is comming! Remember those times when you had to write the same long boring thing over and over for like a registration? Well now, the 3.0 offers a cut and paste technology to make that easier! You just hold the word and Bam! Three buttons come up. They are cut, copy, and paste. Put the wrong info down? Easy! You just have to shake your device and Bam! It’s gone. How easy is that? We all are going to enjoy this very much!

Bluetooth

Rumor has it that Bluetooth capabilities are going to come to Iphone 3g and Ipod Touch 2nd Generation. Now, Bluetooth is already available for Iphone 3g, but after this update, you will be able to use Bluetooth headsets and speakers! No more messy cables for you! I’m as excited as you are for this one! Now, some will say,” How is the Ipod Touch going to have Bluetooth?” Well, some developers found that there is a Bluetooth chip in the Ipod Touch 2nd Generation but it only hasn’t been activated. Now, Apple can just activate the Bluetooth chip with a major update. The bad part about this is that it’s only available for the Ipod Touch 2nd Generation, not the 1st. Good thing I have the second!

Landscape

Now, there are apps that allows you to type email in landscape, but is there an app so you can take notes landscape? That’s right! Landscape is comming for many more apps like weather, calendar, notes, email, and more! No more typing errors for you!

MMS

Well, this is useless for Ipod Touch but Iphone users can use MMS (Multi-messaging-system) to send lots of text messages at one time. Also, you can send images via text messaging. This is useless for Ipod Touch but still, it’s pretty cool.

 Spotlight

For people who jailbroken their Ipods/Iphones, remember finder/search? You got to search your whole phone. Well, this feature has come finally. It is called Spotlight and it is an app that lets you search your mail, notes, history, texts, etc… This is for people who use their device for things like documents and other things.

So, these are some new features of the new firmware coming in June. Be sure to get it before it runs out! (Just kidding they can’t run out!) It’s free for Iphone users and $9.99 for Ipod touch users (like before…). Thx for reading and be sure to check out my articles!

Unlucky mate. I think the 3.0 firmware should be free for first generation ipod touch users because it is pointless for them to pay $10 for copy and paste. Why should they pay full price for something they can only get half the features on? Sort it out Apple, its not like you don’t make enough money off us already you thieves. £10.99 for movies!!! Apple is a rip-off!!!!!

Most of the updates are for 2nd Gen iPod Touch, iPhone, even more for the 3G S, not to mention MobileMe. 1st Gen iPod Touch users like me only benefit from about %10 of the update and 10 bucks is really steep! Especially considering the people who benifit the most out of it, don’t pay anything…

I’m not bothering to update my ipod from 2.2.1 to 3.0 because I only have a first generation iPod Touch which means i’ll be paying £5.99 for the privilege to copy, paste and search. This update should be free for first gen users as most of the features are only compatible with the second gen iPod Touch. I furthermore, don’t see the need to buy a new iPod Touch as all it has that the older version doesn’t is a crappy speaker and an unactivated bluetooth chip.
