Music: Dose It Actually Hurt You?

Music: Dose It Actually Hurt You?

If you are a fan of the MP3 player or the iPod, then this is the article for you. This article is about hearing loss and ways to prevent it. By reading, this article can save you from getting hearing loss.

Most everywhere, young adults and teens are using their iPods, or MP3 players. Most listen to their music-playing device, for hours at a time. So far, it does not sound like anything special, just people listening to music. What they do not know, is that this can substantially aid to hearing loss. The amount of hearing loss in kids, today, is greater than that of most aging adults! There are many ways to prevent this and still listen to your favorite songs. Even so, if you ignore this, your hearing can be permanently damaged.

When it Started

Do not think that hearing issues are just now starting. In the 90s, portable C.D. players came out. People not only everywhere were using these, but were also listening to music for extended periods of time. Also, the higher the volume of the music, the quicker the user would have hearing problems. This was more then likely, the first time hearing would be an issue. Of course, my history may be wrong.

How it Happens

When you put your pair of your headphones on and blare up the music, your ears are injured in some way. Here is how it happens. When the headphones are put on your ear and the volume is very loud, your inner ear hairs are damaged. You inner ear hares are potent to good hearing. There are simple ways to keep this from happening. A very simple way would be to give your ears an extended brake. This dose not work all the time, but still can be effective.

How to Stop it

Now that you know, how you loose your hearing and how it started, here are some tips I have found to keep you from loosing your hearing abilities. The very first one, that I mentioned earlier, is to give your ears a brake every once and awhile. This can let your ears recover in a way. The seconded way I have found to help preserve your hearing is to wear headphones. As odd as this may sound, it helps a lot. This does not mean to have them playing muse, that would defeat the purpose. If you wear them without any music playing, you can block sounds from other things from harming your ears. The third and final way is to lower the volume on your music device to below sixty percent, and only listen to the songs up to an hour, then stop. The lower you have the volume the more you can listen to your songs, but I still advise you to stay under sixty minutes. These are only a few ways to help your ears, even though there are many more.
