The History of Mobile Phones

An article on the history of mobile phones.

In the beginning there were no such things as cell phones or mobile phones, instead there were devices called two way radios, which were installed in vehicles such as taxis, police cruisers and ambulances, but they different because they were not connected in a telephone network. As no one can dial phone numbers from their vehicles, later community know as mobileers popularized a technology that was similar to cell phones. Originally Mobile phones were installed in vehicles, but their later versions like transportables or bag phones could also be carried and they could be used as mobiles or either two-way radios.

In the early 1940s Motorola developed a backpacked two way radio called the walkie talkie and they later developed a large hand held two way radio which was used by the US military. This battery powered “Handie talkie” was about the size of a mans forearm.

First time in Europe, radio telephony was used in the first class passenger trains from Hamburg to Berlin in 1926. It was also introduced on passenger airplanes. And slowly it became more popular among the people, and was then called mobile phones. The recognizable with direct dialing have existed at least since the 1950s.
