Tools Designed to Stalk: Controversial Technology

What different products are available that may encourage stalking.

We all know that stalking is illegal… so, why are companies capitalizing on products specifically designed for that purpose? Take a look with me in this in depth article on the advanced technology and the support of so many illegal acts.

Depending on where you go there are sites like
secr.org
that offer controversial technology like voice synthesizers for only .99 cents. This site gives many of these gadgets for under $5.

Let’s take a closer look at the most popular items now. Have you ever seen the movie Scream? Well, the same voice synthesizers used to trick all the unsuspecting murder victims are for sale. It strikes me funny…. What in the world would a person need with an item like this if not for unlawful activities? These voice changers can produce a man or woman sound.

Caller ID fraud is popular and also very cheap. This sort of item can trick any phone into thinking the number calling is that which is safe. For instance, your ex, a foul tempered person knows the same people you know… they use a mutual friend’s phone number and insert it into the gizmo. So, on your caller ID it is someone you know and trust. Then they get you on the phone when you have been avoiding their calls intentionally. Again, why on earth would a law abiding person need this?

There are so many sites out there dedicated to feeding the broken and disturbed mentality of the stalker. Whether you have a cyber stalker or a stalker using GPS to track your every move and location they are equally as dangerous. This is just a small glimpse into the type of avenues that facilitate the abnormal need and desire of stalking.

It is important to know that this is a crime defined in the law and you do have the right to be protected. You can tell if a person is stalking you by a number of things. If your friends are getting contacted and questions about you are being asked by a person that they do not know… that is stalking. If the same person is showing up on all of the sites you frequent or in public places you attend in everyday life… that is stalking. If you are getting obscene phone calls everyday then chances are it is not a teen who is bored… etc, etc, etc.

This goes to show that there are some companies that are not concerned with the safety of people… only the almighty dollar.
