A WinMo device with 3.2 megapixel camera and physical qwerty keypad. Pre-loaded Opera browser provides awesome browsing experience. The Windows Mobile 6.1 UI goes well with the touch sensitive screen. The phone got awesome looks and good support for multimedia. The bright screen is worth mentioning though the keypad failed to impress. It has everything other that you expect from a smartphone, like Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS.
T-Mobile G1

Despite wide speculations and rumors the G1 failed to impress Android fans. The physical design of the phone is too immature; together with its connection with FOSS it earned the image of a geeky phone. But it is the OS that rocks! Android has been widely welcomed and more and more companies joined the open alliance promising more devices and support. Apart from the looks the phone actually a good performer! Promising OS with advanced browsing facilities, growing support, better camera (compared to iPhone), better text input etc made it acceptable.
Samsung Omnia

The U. S. market leader, Samsung’s recent highlight! If T-mobile G1 failed to live with the hype of ‘iPhone killer’, here is the first phone with killer features. Advanced touch interface (TouchWiz), accelerometer, good camera (5 megapixel) all housed in an impressive tight case. The text input method is better than that of iPhone’s. Though everything looks exciting in the paper it does not impress once on the hands. Poor support and OS do not make it competition for iPhone.
Apple iPhone 3G

If you look back to the computing history you can see Apple as a trend setter in computing. It’s like the history repeats here! Apple definitely didn’t make the first touchscreen phone but the touchscreen become the trend only after the success of iphone. Major players like Nokia, smartphone giant RIM etc thought of a touchscreen only after iPhone’s phenomenal success. What are the other factors? As Mac with a Macbook the iPhone’s OS is a real winner here! Other trends like accelerometer, full-face touchscreen design, multi-touch, appstore, dedicated features for web browsing etc are also worth mentioning. Lack of copy-paste option, video-recording and MMS are widely discussed as its faults.
Blackberry Storm

We have been hearing a lot about iPhone killers but none really lived up to its hype. But here we have some real competition to iPhone. BlackBerry is an undisputed success in smartphone market with its no compromise high performance OS. It is their first touch device which has everything that an Iphone have and actually further more! It may not be as sleek as an iPhone but its text input methods are a step ahead. Better camera with video recording, appstore, flash support for browser etc along with the support of RIM make it a good competition.
Sony Ericsson Xperia X1

Xperia X1 has turned all the heads! It has all the advantages (as well as disadvantages) of Windows Mobile 6.1. Its highlight is the qwerty keypad along with better display and powerful processor. Xperia Panels, nine awesome menu shortcuts in the homescreen, is another amazing feature. It has got a 3 MP camera, Hi-Fi, HSPA, Bluetooth and A-GPS. This is not another iPhone replacement but something bigger!
Nokia N97
Nokia earlier came with its first touch device 5800 tube which could be the real ‘iPhone killer’ as it has all the killer features which are safe in the hands of the market leader Nokia! Later they announced N97, which they term as “the most powerful phone available now”! Yes it has everything to grab the title, the Symbian Series 60 v.5, qwerty keypad, browsing friendly design, powerful processor, massive 32GB storage and more! This is really a phone to be watched!
