@Martie : I wish the same too. Although it’s not that fast, Asimo can do cleaning, cooking, or even greeting guests. But of course, the price is extremely expensive.

@CA Johnson : The only robot that’s possible to do both thing is Asimo. There’s a rumor that there’s a female android who could do it all available for sale. However, this cannot be confirmed until now.

Wow very well put together and researched. They sound like they could be very handy.

Look at that Guard robot, it can kill human easily with a single shot. Anytime soon it will turn against human and will attempt to exterminate us all. Producing a robot is a VERY BAD IDEA and I’m very sure that we’ll find out about it sooner or later.

Avaxier, posted this comment on Oct 21st, 2009

Melly, as I’ve mentioned in the article, these robots are completely harmless for now. They don’t have a complicated mind like the sci-fi movies described them.

As long human can control it, I think making a robot is a good idea to help in our daily life.

Are we so lazy that we can’t serve a cup of coffee? That’s so lazy.

Avaxier, posted this comment on Oct 21st, 2009

Haha, yes.. some people are actually like that. Of course, the intention to make this robot is actually to help people for their daily needs. That way the owner will have more time to do productive thing, such as writing.

Thank you for your opinion, Ruby!

Another very well crafted article, my friend. I hope robots will never rule the world though…(lol)

I like the movie iRobot…talking about ghost bits of codes which can group together and cause malfunctions.

I think we should be more scared about Human/robot hybrids or Nanobots (looong way off) because they would have higher potential than humans…and in the wrong hands kill all of us.

Jane Jane, posted this comment on Oct 22nd, 2009

wow. great inventions.

Avaxier, posted this comment on Oct 22nd, 2009

@Francois : Lol, don’t worry.. these robots are not capable to think like human – yet. Maybe few decades from now, such robots will be invented, we’ll just see.

Avaxier, posted this comment on Oct 22nd, 2009

@kingryanv : That’s possible to happen. Just like you said, a robot hybrid will be unlikely to be produced in these few decades. Until now, there’s no plan to produce it since they’re focusing on making a robot from solid metal. So, I don’t think we’ll live long enough to see Robot Hybrids control the world.
