It seems like yesterday that every kid in the neighborhood had a walkman to listen to.  You would see them on playgrounds, in parks, schools, shopping malls and various sporting events.  It is hard to believe that it has been thirty years since Sony’s Walkman first captured our hearts.  It was music on the go.

     Now the Walkman has been replaced in our lives by new innovations of the cyber world.  IPods and MP3 players have taken the cherished Walkman’s place.  Technology has advanced so much in the last three decades.  Pocket convenience, size and computer links have nearly made the Walkman a remnant of the past.

     We will always have our fond memories of our first experiences with Walkman.  Children of upcoming generations don’t know what they would be missing.  How long will it be before the IPod is but a memory too?
