What’s a Good Alternative to The Straight Talk Phone?

Many of you know my experience with the Straight Talk phone – now see an alternative that you might be interested in, especially with the holidays right around the corner.

As many of you will know, I wrote an article in Triond about the Straight Talk phone regarding the horrendous customer service experience I had. I’m happy to report that I am now using the phone, the problems have been resolved, and I actually like the phone.

However, this morning I would like to speak to you about an alternative to the Straight Talk MOTO. You see, I had to have a phone for a friend at the same time I purchased my MOTO. Because of my experiences with Straight Talk, I wanted to have an economical phone that wouldn’t cost me an arm and a leg (remember, it was a gift) that would be versatile and user friendly.

The phone that I decided on was the Motorola MOTO C139. You don’t have to get a long-time contract and the phone itself could not be more economical (I paid $10 for mine from my local Circle K).  Just take a look at some of the features.

One of the best features that I like is being able to lock the keys. Say what, you might ask? I can lock the keypad so that when I drop the phone in my pocket or in my purse, something else won’t accidentally push the keys and dial a phone number to who knows where.

The phone itself is sleek and compact and has lots of features that you would want in a phone, and it only weighs 3 oz.  Enjoy preloaded games and screensavers and download the ringtones you wish to customize.

It was cinch to activate, by the way. While I do like the Straight Talk because it has a camera with it, the MOTO C139 is a handy, dandy phone that makes an excellent gift.

Your phone is only as good as its service and coverage.

What provider are you using for the Moto C139? Is it TracFone? If so, it’s the same CS team as Straight Talk and Net10, both top rated by J.D. Power.

Straight Talk is still a very smart choice. Most people are thrilled with the coverage and never have any service issues.

And Straight Talk’s $45 Unlimited deal is the best!

I have a new update for everyone. The phone I got at Circle K is a Talk and Go (TAG) Mobile phone.

The three options for refilling the phone are:

1) Call 1-800-763-9510 and request a refill. You do not have to have the phone to refill it through this number.

2) Can go to your local Circle K and refill it there.

3) You can dial 611 using your TAG phone and refill it that way.

The denominations that you can choose for refills are $25, $50, $75, and $100.

The $50 will cover you for three months. The $25 is for 30-day coverage.

While you don’t get a lot of extras with the phone, the quality has proven to be excellent.
