Four Steps to Help You Get Rid of Being a Shopaholic

Everyone as well as me has the irrational desire to buy your favorite things but it is useless…

Everyone, as well as me, has an unwisely desire to buy your favorite things but it is useless. Most commonly, no sooner had you bought the thing, than you put it aside. Nevertheless, will you try to think of what it is used for and why you have to buy it?

This summer vacation, I have read a fascinating book called “Confessions of Shopaholic”, which there is an astounding character called Becky Bloomwood. In this story Becky is a financial journalist work for Successful Savings. It is so ridiculous that she gives advice to her readers on their money, but she is in debt. She tries to give up buying, nonetheless she persuades herself by giving so many excuses. Whilst she is trying to hide herself from the bank manager, she writes an article that exposes the bank’s duplicity. To her astonishment, the article is extraordinary succeeded. And luckily, she is invited to a television show called The Morning Coffee. At night, she meets her old friend Luke Brandon at the Ritz Hotel. Last, though she misses the meeting with her bank manager, the manager agrees to postpone because of the regular slot of the television program.

For me, it is an ideal story. In fact, will it happen in our daily life? I supposed to tell you wouldn’t. For some of you, once you enter a shopping mall. Your body will automatically move to a shop and to another. An hour (or not even an hour) your hands are fulfilled with various kinds of bags. After going home, you can find maybe 1,000 high-heels or maybe 1,000 cardigans in your bedroom. You will feel enjoyable when you are in the buying process, once you walk out of the store your satisfactory will demolish. If you find yourself out of control when you enter the shopping malls, perhaps you are one of the addicted shoppers.

Though I am not a physiologist, I would like to give you a piece of advice if you think you love shopping. Basically, not until they are in the danger will people care themselves. Of course, I am not to tell you to buy to buy until you are in bankruptcy.

1. For the relatives, friends or colleagues, you can try not to borrow money to them. Once you borrow them the first time, very soon there will be the second time. However, you can try to give advises by encouraging them, helping them to find a job, or planning a schedule to them. I think it is more a sensible way for all of you to help them.

2. For the addicted shoppers, first you can make a shopping list, which can make you clear which are the useful things you have to buy.

3. Always carry limited cash and do not bring a credit card with you when you are really need it when you are shopping.

4. Third, do remember that nothing comes for free. Do immediately go into the shop when you see the word “50% OFF”. You may have to pay $100,000 before you get 50%off.
From now on, be a smart shopper; do remember the few points above then you will be automatically be able to get rid of being a shopaholic.
