Eight Perfect Gifts for a Teenager
Another Christmas, another birthday, another gift. It doesn’t have to be stressful.
Christmas and birthdays brings on headaches like no other days. The teenagers are “old children” trapped in a young “adult” body. Their wants can range from kiddy stuff to adult trappings. Here are some suggestions to alleviate the headache.

Stuff toys
Usually the more huggable and cuter the better, for girls.

Macho toys for boys.
I find the boys enjoy those that they can fix from scratch best, especially the building blocks series or lego.

Clothes
This you have to be careful to purchase those that they like or from a store that will allow you to bring it back to exchange for something else available.
Books for the bookworm
Know the latest book release and find out if that is what they are currently reading. Otherwise, get them some self help or self discovery book that they can use to help them through this turbulent time in their lives.

Accessories
Boys or girls, they need one. Even the tomboy will enjoy a nice scarf, introduce them into the world of accessories and how it can “complete” a look.
Facial products
Some teenagers will start to break out at this age, initiate them to use the appropriate facial product to control/eliminate pimples. Some teenagers will have low self esteem due to this, as other peers don’t seem to suffer the same fate as them as they seem to maintain their flawless complexion.

Perfume
There are many options here ranging from soaps, bath salts, aftershave, roll-ons, etc. Begin their journey as they explore this new adventure.
Eye Make up
This will help them to accentuate their best feature on the face. Everybody has beautiful eyes. Get them to the store that will teach them how to apply the make up.
These are just some suggestions, there are MANY other options available. You have to match each need with each teenager. What one requires may not be the same as the other teenager.
Happy shopping!

I agree with you Rachel, my daughter loves receiving cash so that she can spend it the way she wants. She still loves receiving presents, don’t get me wrong, especially soft toys, but know she is at an age where she enjoys dressing up. Your idea of gift cards is great and I do it a lot especially with my teenage nephews and niece, that solves the problem of worrying about sizes, color and if they are going to like what you bought them.

Yes, not only for the children, but gift buying in general is getting very challenging.
Thank you for your comments Carmen

Perfectly wonderful ideas! Some are so difficult to buy things for.
This is helpful along with gift cards when you just can not decide =)
