How to Shop for That Special Someone
Shopping for the one you love can be hard, but it doesn’t have to be.
Having trouble finding that perfect gift for his or her birthday, or difficulty trying to figure out what will light up their life the moment they open it? All you want to do is please that person-make them smile and make them feel appreciated and loved. Sometimes that alone can matter more to you than even receiving a gift back-just the satisfaction of knowing that you made someone’s day, or night. You want to know that that person is not going to throw it in their closet, or basement, behind the mountain of other rejected, or unwanted gifts that have never been used. Here are some things to remember when shopping for that someone:
Gift Cards. If you think that that particular person is going to want clothes, shoes, or apparel, you may want to purchase them a gift card at their favorite store.
Some gifts keep giving. If they are into fitness buy them a membership to a good gym, fitness center, or local recreational center. If they are into health and beauty, buy them a trip to a spa, or a trip to the hair dresser or nail saloon.
Be Thoughtful. Think about who that person is, what they like, what their interests are, and what makes them happy , or relaxes them. Buy them something based on their wants or needs.
Shop Smart.Research what you are thinking about purchasing. Read reviews and articles to see what others are getting out of what you plan to purchase.
Save Money. Save money by shopping online or reading and comparing ads or inserts online or from your local newspaper.
Be Selfless. When you buy someone a gift it should not in any way be what you want!-it is for/about them not you, right? EX: Don’t buy your wife a leaf blower!!! Don’t buy your Husband a pink Ipod!!!-Unless that is TRULY what they want.
The most prominent decision, or choice, in any situation and circumstance is a gift card from the category of their choice. If you know exactly what they want you will stimulate their emotions a great deal more than buying him or her a gift card, but if not it you can always rely on buying them a gift card to their favorite restaurant, retail store, spa, fitness center, or leisure activity.
Shop with your head and your heart. With the economy in the state that it’s in, who can afford to go on a shopping spree??? Be smart and thoughtful. Buy with love, and also with sense.
