The Best Father’s Day Gifts
Father’s Day is fast approaching. Have you got your gift yet? Do you even know what to give Dad? Don’t worry. Here are some ideas to help you out.
Father’s Day is coming up fast. If you’re like most of us you still don’t have a gift – probably don’t even have an idea what to give your Dad. For some reason Mother’s Day seems so much easier. Don’t worry, I have some great ideas that any Dad would love.
- Leather - Leather is a classy gift. Give him a new leather belt. Check a pair of his pants for the waist size then add two inches to come up with the best belt size. So if Dad wears a size 34 jean then purchase a size 36 belt. You can find quality leather belts with various designs, colors and buckles in most western stores. Find one that fits your Dad’s personality.
- Tickets - Tickets to a local sporting event. Does your Father like his sports? If your Dad is one of those men that schedules his free time around the next football, basketball, baseball or hockey game then maybe some game tickets would please him. Make sure and get him two tickets – he might even take you!
- Fishing Trip - Join forces with your siblings and send Dad on a fishing trip. It doesn’t have to be across the country or even for more than a few days. Search around and find an all inclusive trip that fits your budget and would appeal to your Father – then book it! Check your Father’s schedule first and make sure you can change the trip date if you need to.
- Chores - Are you a bit strapped for cash? Make yourself the gift. Do Dad’s chores – mow the grass, clean the gutters, pick up in the yard or garage. You do that anyway? You could always help your Father with a ’special’ project that he never seems to have time to do – build a deck, paint the house, etc.
- Time - Do you live away from home? I bet your Father would love to spend some time with you. Take your Dad out for the day. Do something together that he likes to do. Go boating, hiking, fishing or to a sporting event. Show your Father he is special to you by setting aside some time to be with him.
These are just a few ideas to help you get in the right frame of mind. When you are trying to decide what the perfect gift for Father’s Day might be remember to think with your heart. Consider all the things your Dad does every day that makes him special. What is he giving up to for you?
Don’t let yourself get caught up in the commercialization of Father’s Day. A simple gift given from the heart with love, is worth more than the most expensive ‘thing’ you can buy – and it will last a lot longer.
