Community Ways to Kid Funtimes
Being a single parent is hard and trying to give your kids some fun things to do and it not cost alot of money can be difficult to do. I have found a way to do it for less and involve the entire neighborhood.
Holiday parties
Halloween parties
- Charge $5.00 per kid (To rent Rec Center & Buy Pizza)
- Costume contest
- Games & Fun Activities
- Have everyone chip in and bring a dish
- Everyone gather up some decorations they may have to use for the party
- Send Invites to your kids class mates too
- Have each person bring 1 bag of candy and 1 bag of prizes for pot
- Have 3 Raffles for the Adults to win a prize & with the money you make off of that, use for the next party or event you may have for the kids
- Have one person do face painting with ONLY a sheet with a few to pick from (otherwise it takes up too much time)
Easter
- Charge $5.00 per child ( To make Easter baskets for the kids)
- Have each parent bring an Easter basket to you with child’s name on it for the leader to fill basket
- Have each person get a bag of plastic eggs for egg hunt (keep eggs for the next year) & 1 doz of hard boiled eggs for their kids to color
- Have each person bring a dish for the pot luck meal
- Get paper cups & food coloring to color Easter eggs (and use a table cloth to put it all on)
Last Day of School Party
- Have each parent buy & fill up 2 bags of water balloons and put them in a big tub
- Have each parent bring (if they have them) any type of outside water toy (water slides, water guns etc)
- Each family brings a dish to the pot luck meal
It’s Summer Time Blow out
- Charge $5.00 per child ( Rental of Bounce House)
- Have a huge cook-out
- Have everyone bring a dish
- Bring any outside toys, water things, etc for kids
Everything can be done and it can be done at a very small price if you have neighbors that are willing to contribute for the kids. The kids will remember it always.
Think of more ways to have some of these things done…you would be surprised what you can do if you have just ONE person getting it all started.
