Mother’s Day Hot Gift List: Five Great Ideas That Will Thrill Mom

Mother’s Day Hot Gift List: Five Great Ideas That Will Thrill Mom

Five different ways to please your mom on Mother’s Day, includes typical, unusual, expensive and cheap presents.

Photobooks

Mom’s always think their kid is the cutest. And there is no better way to show off your kid, than in a photobook.

  • Inkubook offers three sizes of Photobooks. You download your pictures and organize them into pages. Inkubook allows for some creativity in choosing wallpaper backgrounds and several different format templates. If your mom likes to be creative, you can give her an Inkubook gift certificate and let her create her own book…and you can contribute to it, even if you live far away. Inkubook makes it possible for others (like your relatives) to send pictures that she can include in the book via the Internet. They also allow you to create it, but ship it to your mom.  Giant calendars are another sweet option available, and you use your own pictures to make it.  Other similar photobook sites are Shutterfly, which offers a soft photobook cover, or Snapfish. Wal-mart offers photobooks as well. They have several sizes, from a small mini-photo book up to a 12 x 12 square. Different covers are available, including velvet or leather. Most of these sites have a lot of other products that you can add a photo to, as well, like pillows, blankets, mousepads, and many other items.

A home-made gift certificate booklet that gives mom some extra free time or lovin’

  • While this idea has been around a long time, it is an easy and inexpensive one kids can easily make and give to their mom. I’ve loved getting them. My kids take a couple sheets of paper, staple them into a little coupon style booklet, and decorate it with drawings and “free gifts” such as “Good for one Hug”, or “One week of No Dishes.” The options are endless. I’ve gotten cute things like “Good for 1 glass of water.” They are so cute, I usually end up saving the book instead of using the coupons!
  • If you are a grown kid, this is just as fun! Try messages like, “I’ll come watch a movie with you” or “A visit to your favorite museum.”

A basket of books, coffees, and chocolates

Splurge on some fancy coffees or teas, indulgent chocolates, and several books. Put in a large, pretty basket and make sure she knows you want her to relax and enjoy some time with nothing to do but read. If you can find a used book store and load up on her favorite type of books, she’ll love it.  Additional items you can pop in the basket: a photo mug with your picture on it (to use to drink her coffee), soft music CD, book light, bookmark, scents, slippers, or a soft lap blanket.

A Camera

Moms love memories, and for that reason alone, a camera is worth the money. Digital camera’s are awesome, and in my opinion, the only way to go when it comes to cameras. Try for one with 8 megapixals or more since that will allow for better enlargements, and don’t forget a bigger memory card if it only comes with a tiny one. If you really want to splurge, get her a digital photo frame she can put her new photos on.

Go to Church with mom and take her out to Lunch afterwards

Many of you are already planning on doing this. Great. However, if you are not the church-going type, but your mom is, you might want to consider this idea. It might be the most special thing you could do for your mom that day. Call her up and let her know you will pick her up and take her. And of course, don’t forget her favorite restaurant afterwards. To make it even more special, plan ahead to see if you can surprise her, and have all her children involved.

No matter what you choose to do, don’t forget to tell your mom how much you love her!

Good suggestions but the best gift you can give your mother is your time.Pack a picnic and take her and the family to the park to enjoy a walk and the fun of sharing food and good talk. We don’t usually want things. We have too much as it is.
