Six Ideas How to Save (At) Christmas by an Ordinary Guy

I’m just an ordinary guy and I just want an ordinary Christmas this year. See how I’ll make ends meet and what to do in order to save Christmas for us. Maybe, you’ll find something you could do as well.

I’m just an ordinary guy and I just want an ordinary Christmas this year. With all the talks about pay cuts and budget and the grim outlook all around, it can quite be a spoiler of the nice Christmas mood I’ve been in already. You never know where that all will end up. And then the people in the radio and in the TV say, I should go out there and support the local economy. Well, I’ll have to ask my credit card first, and see what it says to that, since there is no money left in the kitty, is it.

Oh yes, there was a letter from the bank, that they kindly reduced my available spending on my credit card, as they wrote “in line with my reduced income”. It wasn’t me who reduced the income. I can’t do that. I’m just an ordinary guy, but the government, they are so powerful, and I mean they rescued the banks, that was really responsible by them. Where would we be if there were no banks now? Only one thing I find funny – that is that the bank managers didn’t get any pay cuts. I think I heard that they even got 3% more a few months ago. But then – of course, they are the people with huge responsibility. They must be even more responsible that the government. Even the president and the ministers cut their salaries, so that the bank directors can have a better life. That will certainly pay for their huge responsibility. Mind you, I’ll have less in the wallet; somebody has to pay the price. To make ends meet, I’ll have to make something from nothing, so here are my ideas:

1.)    There will be no big Christmas tree this time, I’ll go in the forest and cut one myself. But not illegally, God knows, there is a forest warden who shows me where to cut and not to cut. That turns out cheaper and still provides me with a real tree. They smell and look so much better than arty-farty trees.

IT doesnt matter what you have for Christmas, for me it’s about who spend it with and how you spend it :) Advance Merry Christmas to you!
