The Bums Way of Doing Laundry

The Bums Way of Doing Laundry

Here is today’s tip for those affected by the recession, this being known as Bums.

Most people hate doing laundry, if you own yours you will save on gas on making the trips to the laundry mat, also saving the hassle of being around others that may take a sneaky peek at your underwear is a plus. Doing laundry is easy, throwing your clothes into the washer and in the dryer is fool proof, but what most people absolutely hate doing, is putting it all neatly back where it belongs. For those Classes of Bums here are some tips:

Do your laundry less

Doing your laundry less means it will be less electric or gas being used, but then again you may have a lot of clothes to wash. To solve this problem is what most people may not be accustomed to, which is wearing the same item of clothing more than once. As for your under garments I do not recommend this. Wash your clothes once every week, pick a day that you will have the most time to do it, and keep with that schedule.

Fill it up

Fill up your washer to the top with clothes, not so much that it will not properly clean, but enough where you feel comfortable. Doing this will mean lesser loads to be done..Now you can take a breather to finally relax. Switching the knob to full load is obviously a must, but what is also a plus it changing your cycle to “short”. Shorter cycles do not mean that your clothes will be any less clean, try it yourself.

Cheap, Cheap, Cheap

Stop buying the expensive liquid detergent, why? Look at the ingredients on the normal detergent you buy and at the cheaper brand, both have the same ingredients, only difference is the amount of fragrance used, and the kind of it. So now you want to switch to the cheaper brand of liquid…Stop right there! Cheaper brand of liquids have more water in the detergent, meaning that you would have to use more liquid in order to have the same effects of the expensive brand. Stick to the cheap brand of powder detergent.

Today while I was standing in the detergent section at the well known cheap store of all time Dollar General, I made my sacrifice of $3 for a 5 LB box of powder detergent. So take my advice, pay less on detergent, and use less electricity.

I fold the clothes down by the washer and then I mainly just take them out of the laundry basket as opposed to putting them away.
