What exactly does it mean when a painting is said to be “naturalistic”? By analyzing the history of art, we can understand what naturalism entails.
Here’s my latest piece in the everyday art series. Everyday art involves taking something completely ordinary and mundane and turning it into something artistic and inspiring. The Lego brick is a perfect example of this. Everyone has played Lego at sometime or another. You can make anything out of the ubiquitous lego brick — toy cars, little houses, star ships, boats, etc. The list is endless. You can also make some pretty cool art out of Lego too.
About 23% of plastic water bottles are recycled. This leaves an astounding 38 billion water bottles in landfills. It takes over 1.5 million barrels of oil to manufacture a year’s supply of bottled water. That’s enough to fuel 100,00 cars for a year. The popularity of recycling, reducing, and reusing has increased in recent years. These methods can help to reduce the amount of wasted oil and landfill space.
Everyday objects can have a place in the world of art. They don’t have to be totally boring, utilitarian objects. They can become something to make you smile or inspire you or make you think. A chair could be, and sometimes is, so much more than a place to sit. See the images below to see how artistic and beautiful chairs can actually be.
In this modern world, body painting has taken its place as one of the trendiest form of artwork. There is even an annual event to recognise the works of body artists. The World Bodypainting Festival is held on the third week of July in Seeboden, Austria every year. During this week-long festival, body artists from all over the world will gather to show off their talents and specialties.
This article is the second in a series of Artistic Recycling articles. These articles highlight ways that trash can be turned into treasure. This piece involves the reinvention of cardboard egg cartons into canvases which can be viewed from a never ending series of angles and view points. The cups of the egg cartons obliterate some of the perceptive angles of the viewer.
A fundamental difference between Picasso’s two forms of art.
These are pictures of things that have stopped me in my tracks and caught my attention. Nowadays people are so busy in their day to day lifestyle that sometimes they don’t get to stop and look around them and capture that picturesque view.
