Now coming to the servicing of a power generation engine is a major part of a maintaining an engine.

Every Engine needs a good source of clean air for breathing and this is the job of the air filter to provide that.

In other to prevent wear and tear in the moving parts of an engine, the lubrication of the engine is a very important factor. For various sizes and makes of engines comes with different types of lubricating oil to use.

When excess white smoke is seen from the exhaust pipe, it signifies mostly two faults. One of the faults is that the engine is not breathing normally of it is finding it hard to breath.

When a blue black smoke is seen from the exhaust pipe, it signifies that the lubrication oil is entering the combustion chamber.

Whenever a black smoke is seen from the exhaust, it signifies that there I an inefficient spray of diesel in the combustion chamber.

From my training, I got to understand that when you observe vibrations in engine, you will have to look at every parameter that has to do with fuel flow and fuel supply. We will look at the problem from both points of view and also talk about the solutions.

Troubleshooting: These are the steps and procedures taken in other to discover the cause of a problem generated in a certain system.

An irregular flow of coolant in the engine will cause an inefficient cooling system. When the heat exchange done in the radiator does not go round efficiently this will lead to temperature rise.

Radiator blockage can occur both internally and externally. For internal blockage, this can arise when there are particles in the water used in topping the radiator.
