The first ever international ArtPrize competition held in Grand Rapids, Michigan just announced their winners yesterday. An artist from my neck of the woods won third place for his portraits done by using plastic push pins.

The Japanese have a wonderful relationship with their manhole covers: they treat them as art. Here is a selection of the ornate, the artistic and the ever so slightly bizarre.
