Dubai is a city of wealth and extravagances. Dubai has boomed to become a world economic powerhouse in the last 30 years. Much of that wealth has been focused into the construction of elaborate, over-the-top, and outstanding pieces of architecture that anyone would be floored by.

My aunt owns a cabin on the lake, it used to belong to my grandfather, at that time we had total access to the beach in front of the house, now she, and her kids are displaced. Worse problems are occurring in other nations as locals are physically removed so hotels can be built. I live in the country near a popular tourist area, this is my experience.
